A place to find community together, a place to be lead by Christ.
The idea of community and helping one another is what New Song Ministries is attempting to do through our Sunday night fellowship, which occurs after our church service at The Salvation Army. We have a time of encouraging one another, praying for each other, and networking regarding job opportunities and housing that may be available. New Song Ministries wants to help our clients to have changed lives through Jesus Christ.
Founded by Pastor Jerry Christiansen, New Song was born from a need he recognized himself while serving time. He found Jesus behind bars, and during his time, he came to study and know the Word. He shared his knowledge within the walls, and upon release, found a need, a gap between where he was coming from and the community he was trying to reintegrate to.
“There was no place for guys like us to go,” Jerry said, “I just wanted a place where the guys could all come together, be a family.”
New Song came together as a bridge to support and guide the incarcerated back into society. Working to be a way of stability, community and positive change through Christ, New Song aims to help reduce recidivism. Offering the chance for a new cycle, a different life and a path forward.
